Our Swim School offers a wide range of classes catering for toddlers through to intermediate children. Classes generally coincide with the school terms. The school specializes in stroke technique and development with small class numbers a feature.
Private (1-1) lessons are available and we regularly run a school holiday programme.
Bookings and Costs
Lesson Fees vary by term dependent upon the amount of weeks (and therefore lessons) per term, we offer discounts for additional family members. Fees are inclusive of pool entry costs.
We need to assess all new swimmers to determine the appropriate class level before booking. Please call the club on 499 0032 or complete the enquiry form at the bottom of the page for further information.
Starfish – This level is recommended for children below the height of 1.2m
Designed for the total beginner who is not comfortable putting their head under water. There is a focus on water confidence activities, fun games, and enjoyment in the pool.
Jellyfish – This level is recommended for children below the height of 1.2m
Designed for children who are comfortable putting their head under the water. There is a focus on floating, gliding, kicking and submersion.
Turtle – This level is recommended for children between the ages of five and ten.
This level begins to teach swimming independence in freestyle and backstroke. It also has a strong focus on introduction to bilateral freestyle
Lobster – This level is recommended for children between the ages of five and twelve.
Lobster classes continue to work on freestyle and backstroke also introducing breaststroke and butterfly kick.
Octopus – The level is recommended for children between ages of seven and twelve.
In Octopus classes increased distances are swum while maintaining a strong focus on technique in both backstroke and freestyle. Along with improving breaststroke and butterfly technique.
Whale – This level is recommended for children between ages of eight and fourteen.
Whale classes are the first of our squad levels. Distances of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly are gradually increased while maintaining a strong focus on technique.
Dugong – This level is recommended for children between ages of eight and fifteen
This squad is for children who are not ready for competition training but would like to develop their fitness and technique in a squad based programme. Children should be competent swimming 100m, suitable for squad to competition transition.
