Biography

I believe that being able to swim is an essential life skill, especially in New Zealand, everyone should be able to feel confident in the water and know that they could save themselves if needed.
I have spent my life around the water and swimming is my family’s sport. I was a competitive swimmer, triathlete and water polo player.
I have over 15 years’ experience working in the aquatics industry as a swim instructor and a lifeguard (Wellington, Christchurch, Hamilton & Gore). I have taught and coached people of all ages from 6months to adults. For the past three years my work has focused on teaching and developing adults to reach their goals, whether that be stroke correction, training for an Iron Man, learning to breathe or a complete beginner. I enjoy teaching and watching people gain a new skill and gain more confidence in their abilities. When I am not teaching I work in IT as a project manager and volunteer my time working on stage productions around Wellington.
