In late 2016 the swim school has expanded with more private lessons for adults being offered in the morning with our new instructor Taryn Ryan. Taryn is an accomplished Elite Triathlete / Personal Trainer who has years of experience coaching all levels of swim from beginners to triathletes, her coaching style is really fun and super effective.

Although swim school for children has finished till Term 1 2017, private lessons for adults will still be operating, so if you are looking to improve on your swimming let us know just click here to contact us.

Important Notices

TERM DATES
End of Term 4 – December 17 2016
Start of Term 1 2017 – January 30th
End of Term 1 2017 – April 15

Holiday Program
We will be running a 5 day holiday intensive program from the 23rd to the 27th of January 2017. If you are interested in giving your child a head start in swimming for the year, send me an email confirming you wished to be enrolled.

Splash and Dash
Synergy is directly involved with the local event Splash and Dash, which is either an ocean swim at Oriental beach or a swim then a run around the parade.
Entry for the kids is free, so if your child is keen to give ocean swimming a try please let us know. We would like to form a team to attend every 2nd Wednesday and run some training sessions in the new year for this.

Swim caps are compulsory
Children with long hair must wear one to their lesson. If they do not have one, we have a few extra on hand however, no cap = no swimming. Excess hair in the filter system reduces the effectiveness of the filters and the quality of the pool water so we must insist. 🙂 They are available for sale at the gym for $15 if you need one.

Term One Registrations.
The Term 1 timetable will be drafted for next year and proceeding on that basis that all those in current lessons will be continuing.
If this is not the case please send me an email and let me know as we do have swimmers waiting for particular time slots.

Swimming Safety Tips

With Holiday Season just around the corner we feel now is a great time to remind you of a few personal and family safety tips for being in and around our beautiful beaches and rivers this summer.

While we have run through water safety tips in the last lesson of our swim school for the term, here are a few friendly reminders:

  • If you are in trouble, raise your hand straight up in the air to signal for help
  • If you get caught in a rip, don’t fight it, either try to swim sideways and raise your hand for help
  • Don’t enter the water if you do not feel confident with the conditions
  • Always enter feet first into rivers to check for depth

Keep safe and enjoy the water this summer.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Synergy Swim Team.
